After School Programs and Life Skills
Afterschool programs keep kids safe, provide them with homework support and dynamic learning time, while helping working families. Doves of America’s curriculum is focused on Language Arts, Mathematics, and STEM, along with Youth Development. Parents have seen improvements in their children’s behavior, school attendance, and school performance when they participate in afterschool programs. Expanded Learning Programs are one way Think Together is partnering with schools and communities to close the achievement gap. We will offer weekly workshops that help families build strong parenting skills, expand their vocational abilities, and provide them with positive community and cultural activities. Adults will attend monthly classes to learn how to keep and balance a checkbook, how to budget, and how to plan for purchasing cost-effective and nutritious groceries.
Materials for Learning
Many educational materials in local languages are often out of date. We work with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to current textbooks that are age appropriate and written in their primary language.
Continuing Education for Teachers
We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.
Support for Communities
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
